Ci Ba is a beloved Chengdu street snack. Sticky glutinous rice is pounded into a paste, shaped into squares, and deep-fried until golden and crispy on the outside while remaining chewy inside. It's drizzled with brown sugar syrup and dusted with soybean flour โ€” simple, satisfying, and perfectly sweet.

Sticky rice cakes have been eaten in Sichuan for centuries, originally as a festival food. The fried version became a street snack in Chengdu in recent decades.
